Tatio Geysers

A sunrise amid mist and volcanoes

Experience one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles of the Chilean highlands: the Tatio Geysers, located at an altitude of over 4,300 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the intense cold of the early morning creates a dramatic scene, where steam from the geysers rises powerfully in the darkness just as dawn breaks.

You’ll explore the highest-altitude geothermal field on the planet—and the third-largest. It features more than 80 active fumaroles and hot springs. After the tour, you’ll enjoy an outdoor breakfast buffet surrounded by mountains and volcanoes.

The tour continues with a stop at the Putana Volcano overlook, followed by a visit to the Putana Bofedal, an Andean wetland where you can spot local wildlife such as vicuñas, flamingos, and high-altitude birds.

Finally, we’ll explore the picturesque village of Machuca, a traditional settlement of highland shepherds featuring adobe houses and a century-old church with twin bell towers. Here you can learn about their culture, try empanadas or llama anticuchos (we recommend bringing cash to buy them), or simply enjoy the scenery and the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
