Route of the salt flats

Discover one of the least-explored routes of the Chilean Altiplano on a scenic journey through quiet landscapes, ancient geological formations, and Altiplano lagoons that change color with the light of day. The route begins with the spectacular Laguna Diamante and Laguna Negra, hidden in the heart of the Altiplano, surrounded by mountains, salt flats, and Altiplano vegetation. Here you can enjoy the silence, observe Andean birds, and capture incredible photographs.

Next, we’ll visit the enigmatic Monjes de la Pacana, solitary columns of volcanic rock rising from the earth, sculpted by wind and time. We continue on to the Salar de Quisquiro, a breathtaking landscape where the white of the salt flat, the blue of the sky, and the green hues of the lagoon blend together. An ideal place to completely unwind and experience the immensity of the desert in its purest form.

The tour concludes with a stop at the Licancabur Lookout, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of San Pedro de Atacama’s most iconic volcano.
